A couple of years ago, I was a new student of TCM herbology and was trying to buy herbs for a few formulas but, was having a horribly difficult time with it. You see, I can't speak Chinese nor Vietnamese so, couldn't properly ask for the herbs I needed. I had visited several stores but, no one would help me. Then, I walked into Vinh Quang - Chinese Herb and Ginseng. I wish I had written down the lady's name as she was extremely patient with me. I had a list of over 20 herbs but, she still sat down with me and went over each herb, taught me the Pinyin name, and then wrote it down in Chinese on my list so I'd have it handy. We came here in search for a special herbal recipe, and we were told this place is legit. I grew up drinking herbal soup. My grandmother used to make them all the time. I am not sure if he was the owner, but he was very kind to share his wealth of knowledge considering we had a few questions before finalizing our purchase. I think the saving grace here was we didn't have to drive all the way to Chinatown in San Francisco, find parking and wait a long line to even talk to the herbal doctors.
