So effective and efficient! I pulled my arm playing pickleball and Dr. Zhao fixed it and some chronic issues with my hips and jaw in 30 minutes.
I’ve been to other acupuncturists in SF, some of them are super gentle and make you take a long nap, but Dr. Zhao was super efficient with just a few seconds per needle while being friendly and reassuring. It hurts a little more, for just a second, but I immediately feel better after, and can get on with my life.

Miracle worker!!! I was being a tourist in Chinatown while trying to deal with a major back pain issue that had me doubled over several times in the last few days even after visiting a chiropractor that really did great too. Dr Zhao took the tine to listen and then precisely attended to pain I have been dealing with for over a year. It was the best $300 I have spent. . Period. I feel free, hopefully I feel the same tomorrow.

I came to Dr.Zhao recently due to headaches, pain radiating upward towards the back of my head, dizziness and pain on my shoulders and neck. I was able to call and book a same day appointment. Dr. Zhao is a retired doctor who works 3 days a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays) because of his passion for healing and fixing people's health problems. I was in tears because I was in so much pain and so dizzy. He calmed me down and told me he would fix me up! He used a combination of acupuncture, cupping and body/spine manipulation. He recommended a pillow and some pills for me to take home. Dr. Zhao is not cheap, the appt with everything costs $400! ($250 for each session plus initial first time $50 fee) I was still not better so I came back in two days. He poked me with needles and moved my neck around. I do feel better after I have seen him but I think my problem is too far gone with my neck. It's years of posture, sleeping wrong, stress, anxieties that have built up these muscle and neck tightness that is so hard to get rid of. It's been 2 weeks since I saw Dr.Zhao and I'm still not 100%. However, he did a lot to help me, he is a kind and patient man and ever since I saw him, I can breathe soooo much better and deeper. I felt like I couldn't breathe very well before I came to see him. I like him so I also took my husband to see him. He's been having right shoulder/back pains for years now, who knows where it comes from. Could've been the car accidents or work out wrong. After 1 session with Dr. Zhao, my husband is feeling a whole lot better. He still feels the area is a little off but his pain is completely gone and it's been a whole week so far. He was in so much pain! I highly recommend Dr.Zhao for all your ailments. There is no quick fix to any health problem. You need a combination of meds (possibly), lifestyle changes, exercise/stretches, stress reduction etc. Dr. Zhao can propel you there but you have to do the rest yourself too. For example, I'm doing more neck exercises now which I have never done before and I work on the computer 8 hours a day. I have changed my pillow to an ergonomic one. I'm being more MINDFUL in general of my neck and how it responds to my anxieties and stress (it gets tighter). Dr.Zhao sure is expensive but he is a healer and a good one.

Beware of this clinic he used same needle that was used on different patients. I had done a review be for but it was removed also there was a lot of different patients who wrote bad reviews and it’s not showing any more

Yes, yes and yes!Look no further.If you can't find him or its closed go to the foot massage school across the road. They might know where to find him ;)But also it will be expensive and it will be painful (like bruises for a week painful) - but is it worth it!? - absolutely.

Been there 8 years! Don't waste time go to any other place, I got fixed by one visit. Worth every penny! Fix my shoulder, knee, waist, hip all in once everytime when feel awfully tied up. Very nice people as well.

I urge people to write more reviews. I know as most people who come here do not post reviews. I went here 15 years ago for back pain-a misaligned bone. He popped it back in place. Because the muscles in my back have adjusted, I have to go multiple times. And also because this place is located in SF, I had to try other chiropractors, due to the distance. I have tried 3 other chiropractors from berkley to fremont. All did the same thing-crack your neck, back and hips. The same exact way. While I did feel a little better, I could've cracked it myself. I finally gave in because those people couldn't do it and weren't listening to me, so I went back here today. Zhao knows what he's doing. You tell him and he will fix it for you. Other chiro will try to get you on a subscription plan to come 3x a week, blah blah blah (especially the ones who partner up with kaiser). You only need to come to Zhao once or twice and you are good. They do charge a a little more than other places, but it might be worth it for you. They only open Tuesday, Thursday and Sat as of now, but yoi can call and they will answer even on their off days. Call early, because they were booked for the whole day the last time I called. Also, check the area first before you come here because parking is a hassle. I really miss this place.

2014 - Treatment for vertigo, migraines, neck & shoulder blade pain (5 stars, 10 stars if possible).A very good friend of mine highly recommended him. Dr. Zhao cured my vertigo, dizzy spells, and migraines in 1 visit. I had acupuncture and an adjustment done to my neck. Not only was my vertigo cured, I also no longer needed my glasses on the same day. I had compressed nerves in my neck. I followed up with a few more treatments and it fixed all the tension and pains in my neck and shoulder too. Prior to seeing Dr. Zhao, I have had long term chiropractic and massage treatments, but it only relieved my migraines, neck/shoulder pains temporarily.2021 - Treatment for hunch over shoulders (bad posture pains), c-section scar tightness/pain, breastfeeding bad posture pains (5 stars, 10 stars if possible)I've been to physical therapy where the scar tissues has been massaged and pulled to loosen everything that has been stuck. I also exercise, stretch and do yoga, but it was not enough to loosen or fix shoulders from curling forward, probably from doing computer work. In addition, I have also gotten a lot weak muscles and pains after breast feeding 2 kids in 2016 and 2018. Dr. Zhao treated my c-section scar tissue, back of my shoulders and front of my shoulders/clavicle/front neck area. Now my c-section scars no longer hurt & tug when I cough or get out of bed. My shoulders have also relaxed and does not curl forward. I also had an old injury at the bottom of my trapezius muscle where it connects to my spine. The pain there has also been minimized (a work in progress.)I'm very grateful to the doctor because I can live pain free & tylenol free. I'm also happy with fixing my posture and curled shoulders.
