I've been going here for a year, maybe 2 , and feel very at home with the stylists. The owner is a wonderful , chatty , upbeat person, funny, great at doing hair , her other stylists too , are wonderful . Henry and Maureen. They are very warm, kind , easy going , reasonably priced! And talented.

I've been been trusting Maureen for perms, haircuts, and whatever hair needs I have for a few years, she is accommodating and runs on time. Her great work always keeps me coming back! The easiest way to reach her for an appointment is by her cell 415-810-3173. She moved from a shop down the street and I was glad that I followed her, she never disappoints!

Full disclosure, back in the day, I was a hairdresser and I'm very picky about my hair. This place is top grade. Prior to the pandemic, I had my hair washed and blown dry at New Starting as a treat. Each time I had a great shampoo and blow dry. Henry Sito is a meticulous stylist. I could tell by his technique with blow drying that he would be also great with hair cuts. I came back to SF, first time since the pandemic and was fortunate to find New Starting still in business and Henry at his chair. He recognized me, although it had been several years.
