The cardiologists and nurses are excellent but discharge pharmacists was not through with the medication. Can’t contact anyone since everything is closed and no one to contact! Having a heart surgery is difficult enough but not given all the necessary medications along with required over the counter medications aren’t provided. . Trying to contact personal regarding the prescribed medication extremely difficult after hours. Discharge took forever! . Extremely difficult and frustrating!!!!

GINA CLARK IS TERRIBLE. She is NOT a mental health professional and she should NOT be a psychiatrist. She has terrible bedside manners and makes mental health issues worse!! I know multiple people who have said the same thing. Your medical chart, even if the info is years old, is the only thing she will use to "treat" you. Every doctor I have seen at Kaiser adds incorrect info to my chart. She won't even bother with conversations with you to discuss your concerns, she decides your "treatment" before she meets you. AVOID AVOID AVOID. She will make you feel worse.

Kaiser care in SF has gone from fair to poor over the past year. hard to get appointments. ridiculous phone tree that then just hangs up on you randomly. super frustrating . now doctors don't even answer their own emails. a medical assistant answers instead with useless non-information. I can't wait for enrollment month to drop my Kaiser insurance once and for all.

I had the unfortunate need to stop by here last Friday night. My friend was having an acute pain issue and I was with her. Lucky for her, I'm a nurse lol. So we had to figure what insurance she had and headed to Kaiser on Geary! We arrived sometime around 11pm and had to drive up a tiny ramp, which is a bit confusing and off putting. When you get to the main entrance the ambulance bay is TINY, like... maybe 1-2 can fit in there. I got out and a security guard asked me what I was there for. He was kind enough to help me get her in a wheel chair and took her inside while I parked my car. The garage was maybe a 3-5 minute walk down the hill. I was fine walking up the hill, but I can see how this may be an issue for some folks. Once I got inside I found my friend awkwardly stationed in the middle of the waiting room facing the main ED entrance. I quickly moved her to the side and sat with her while we waited. It was maybe 30 minutes before they called her in to triage. That was pretty quick in the world of emergency departments. After that they sent us back outside to the tiny waiting room and at that point there was a man handcuffed to a hospital bed spewing hate at anyone that was near him. He was also surrounded by several police officers. I mean, let's face it, this is San Francisco. Anyhow, maybe within 15 or so minutes they called her name and we were escorted to a small short stay CDU. We got her up in the bed and the nurse there immediately told her to disrobe, which I thought was odd... because she was only there for lower back pain. In the time she started to change the doctor came in and started to examine her. Thankfully put a stop to that silliness. Anyhow the MD quickly suggested a few things which I knew were going to be done, and declined imaging which I disagreed with, but... I wasn't the provider. Just the advocate. After he was done, they gave her a shot, I got some prescription med downstairs for her, and we were out of there in less than 1.5 hours. In the world of ED wait times, this was pretty impressive. Yes, maybe it was off-putting, but it's an ED in San Francisco. I can't expect much. Overall, for my first time in a Kaiser ED, it was pretty quick. If you have some minor urgent matter and your a Kaiser member? Don't hesitate to go here. Maybe we got lucky that night... who knows.

They boast about how they have their Dr app yet you can't email your doctor or message anyone so I just had a doctors appointment and he wanted me to let him know how things were going he said just send me a message. There is no way to send your dr an email or anything. I've been trying for over an hour and this is the fourth time I've tried there's nowhere on the app. You can email your doctor even in the message center even though there's other emails from the doctor and you in the message center when you press send message it doesn't give you the option to send a message to your doctor. It gives you options for an e-visit ???? I don't know who changed the app, but it's ridiculous now two years ago it was so easy to use. I got information immediately. Now I'm sitting here with no prescriptions that I need to take because they weren't automatic refilled like they're supposed to be so I had to order them no pharmacy that is open has them in stock. The only one open on Saturday is out of stock of a basic hormone? this is the worst health insurance I've ever had in 30 years plus I pay $800 a month for it I might as well just save 800 and take care of myself. Please Change the app back to something That is actually easy to use for patients. Two of the simplest things they can't get right auto refill on my prescription and messaging my doctor if you can't get those right what else are you getting wrong?

I've been a Kaiser member for over 7 years, and my experience at the San Francisco Medical Center has been excellent. The care is always prompt, professional, and compassionate. Doctors, nurses, and staff are attentive, and the coordination of care between specialists, labs, and services is seamless. I always feel well taken care of. If you're looking for high-quality healthcare in SF, I highly recommend Kaiser Permanente!

5 Stars for Service and System

but CAUTION and ALERT regarding ACCESSIBILITY ♿️ in the Parking Structure, and caution, too, on Pedestrian Safety.

Always, it's tricky for both pedestrians in front of Medical Center and cars pulling into and out of the parking structure. There are many pedestrians, some walking slowly or with mobility aids. It's tricky to move past them safely. Also, the entry/exit of the parking structure is a sudden grade, so visibility is difficult.

If you are taking the bus, you may need to cross Geary. Please be careful and cautious, cross when there is enough time, etc.

CURRENTLY, the elevators inside the parking structure (NOT the medical center) are being repaired. This repair work will last all of 2024. There is ONE working elevator. There are MANY people - many with wheelchairs, strollers, walkers, etc. waiting for this ONE elevator.

There are golf carts - maybe two? - to pick up people waiting for the elevator and take them "to the top" where they still must walk up a grade to get to street level.

If you are bringing someone who uses a mobility aid, you might want to drop them off at Geary and then park your car. If you yourself have a disability that needs mobility aids or you have a baby, stroller, kids, etc. of course, you can't do this.

ALLOW TIME to deal with all this. All of it - waiting for elevator or golf cart, etc. - will take time.

The signage for "Golf Car Waiting Area" is only in English. They need to add more languages.

Been here twice for surgery procedures in the last 6 months and I have to say that I'm very satisfied with the care that Kaiser doctors, nurses, and staff provided me during my procedures and stays in the hospital. I'm grateful for the patient advocates and the volunteers that came by to visit also. Thank you also to the nutritionist and meal staff for delicious and healthy meals. Appreciate you all.

It's the worst hospital from the small things to the top . The nurse take 30 minutes to show up and in top of that they told me they can't take care of the newborn baby it must have to be one of the family stay on the hospital
