The SFSU Exercise Physiology Lab offers fitness testing services such as hydrostatic body weighing, metabolic rate measurement, etc. They operate mostly by appointment, so you must email them ahead of time to make arrangements. They are located at the SFSU gymnasium, room 111. I went for a BodPod test. It is a capsule which estimates your density (by measuring the volume of air you displace) and from that your body fat. The test is only a few minutes long and you get a PDF right back with the results. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Well, I thought they had a Yelp, but apparently not. I just got dunked at SFSU Exercise Physiology Lab on campus and had a great experience. Shannon helped me set up the Hydrostatic testing appointment and feel confident about the methodology. Easy to find location with parking, its affordable, and quick. Highly recommend this IN CITY option for accurate body composition testing. Thank you Shannon and crew.
