I went here for massage, cupping, and gua sha for shoulder tension. The treatment ended up being much more intense than expected. Cups were left in place for about 4–5 minutes and I developed large dark marks and soreness that lasted several days and interfered with some of my physical therapy exercises. It looked like Oreo cookies melted all over me (same level of raised skin as the cookie).
What concerned me more was the communication during the session. When I tried to explain my symptoms I was interrupted a few times and told the practitioner already knew what was wrong with me (but he was actually wrong so I had to re-explain a few times). During treatment he repeatedly made “tsk tsk” comments about how tight everything was and suggested my circulation was very bad, but when I asked how severe it was compared with other patients he said it was about the same. The commentary felt unnecessarily dramatic and made it hard to understand what was actually going on.
There also wasn’t much discussion beforehand about treatment intensity or prior experience with cupping or gua sha. At one point he commented that he was surprised I “hadn’t cried yet,” which felt uncomfortable.
A few weeks later, I’m still dealing with lingering neck and shoulder soreness. I had previously been making progress with physical therapy, but after this session I noticed a setback, including more neck strain and pain later in the day, and unfortunately he did not loosen my tight upper traps (they actually got tighter after the strains).
The clinic itself was clean, but the payment interaction was awkward. There was a sign requesting cash tips. When paying, the practitioner initially questioned the tip amount before realizing the math (his math was initially wrong).
Overall the treatment style and communication didn’t work well for me. If you’re considering treatment here, I’d recommend discussing pressure and technique clearly in advance, especially if you’re new to gua sha or prefer gentler cupping. I’d opt for a good Thai massage place instead or have cupping done by an acupuncturist. A few other practitioners saw my cupping aftermath and all expressed the same opinion that this practitioner was way too rough and did more damage than good.

Just a comprehensive and outstanding massage from Mr. Ye, I had a full body 90 minute massage and it was the best I’ve ever had. Yes at times it was painful but it was complete and the cost of $130 for the time and work was worth it!!! Highly recommended for this level of skill and effort!!!

Went here once a month for the 2 years we lived across the street. I've had massages in over a dozen countries and the massage given by the female masseuse/owner (Julie?) was one of the best, if not the best. She's a human foam-roller - perfect for sports / weightlifting soreness - but also extremely smooth and gentle in her movements. Sounds paradoxical until you experience it. Mr Yi is great too, and did a great job of resolving a wrist issue I had (unprompted), but I always prefer the female masseuse due to the combination of intense deep tissue + smooth gentle application.
