I recently visited Small Paws for the free new-patient exam. While the staff were polite, the experience felt very rushed and incomplete. The exam itself was extremely brief, with only a quick check of my cat’s weight and heartbeat and no real physical assessment or discussion.
My kitten was diagnosed with ringworm and given a paper prescription. When I asked where I could get the medication, the staff said they didn’t know. We waited in the exam room for 20 minutes with no update. I went to the front desk and was told the doctor had already left for the day and would not be coming back. No one informed us that the appointment was over or gave any further instructions.
I understand this was a free exam, but I had planned to become a regular client because the clinic is close to home and the online reviews are very positive. Unfortunately, my experience was completely different. When I tried to get the prescription filled, I found that local pharmacies do not carry the medication, and both Amazon and Chewy require online or phone verification, which the clinic refused to provide. They only issue paper prescriptions, meaning I would have to mail it to Chewy and wait up to a week for my cat’s medication.
While everyone was generally nice, the professionalism and communication were disappointing. I still have unanswered questions for the vet, but she never returned to the room or followed up. We were left sitting in a stuffy room for 20 minutes, unsure whether the appointment was even finished. Sadly, I will not be coming back.

They do a great job with my cats, pay attention to what I have to say, and what the cats are feeling and are very responsive to requests. Very happy with this place.

All of the staff here were super friendly and Mikey did a great job helping me coordinate the first visit. My cat is my 10-year old baby and I brought her in with concerns around behavioral changes and excessive sneezing. Dr Harty had warm bedside manner with my cat and helped ease my concerns by doing a thorough assessment and diagnosing it as mild allergies likely developing due to her aging. We ran labs just to be sure all is well and Dr Tse promptly called me the next day with their interpretation of the results.

I had a very disappointing experience here. The vet was very rude and dismissive, and I felt pressured into unnecessary treatments for my cat. I would never recommend this place to anyone.
