Albion Power Company just completed a 13 solar panel installation on my single story home in Mill Valley. The advance discussions, over the telephnoe and in person, explaining required customer decisions, were delivered in a friendly and professional manner. The three man crew, including a manager and two electriciians, completed this whole project, using an efficient system of material delivery, placement and initial installation of roof top rails, followed on day two by panel and electrical installation. Albion Power has my highest recommendations. I work in renewable energy policy, so decarbonizing my life and getting my own home solar system has been a dream for years. When it was finally the right time, I got quotes from a number of companies, but Albion Power quickly distinguished itself among the pack, even though they weren't the cheapest (read on-- they were worth every penny). Owner Charles Adams and his team were responsive to all my initial inquiries, and worked closely with me to design a system that met our needs (and anticipated future needs as we plan to electrify our home). When we realized our 30+ year old roof would need to be replaced before we got solar, Albion's affiliate roofer, WestCo/Berkeley Roofing came out and gave us a competitive quote. When we decided we also wanted to install an induction range, and that work would require similar electrical upgrades that the solar would require, the Albion team expertly coordinated with our electrician and offered to serve as general contractor on the whole project. Basically, Albion made everything super easy in the planning phase, and that followed through to the execution of the project. Within a single, expertly planned week, we had a new distribution panel installed, a new stove circuit installed, a new roof, and our solar up and running. Project manager Stephen Mullen was responsive to all of my (many, many) questions, was easily available via text, and didn't mind standing around explaining the system to me in as much detail as I wanted. When there was a small hiccup in getting the system up and running, Stephen quickly figured out the problem and fixed it himself, coming out to my house between other jobs to make sure everything was right. When I had questions about the bills, owner Charles and his admin staff were very quick and informative in their responses. City inspection approval was a breeze, and I got Permission to Operate ("PTO") from PG&E in less than 24 hours! Since then, we have been able to set our electric vehicle to charge during peak production exclusively from the solar, and this past weekend we used that solar power charged car to get out of town with our kids-- truly driving on sunshine! It's too bad I don't have another roof to put solar on, because I would love to work with these folks again.
We had Albion Power and their sister company Berkeley Roofing install a new roof and then solar panels on our home in Oakland. The work was seamless, on time and on budget. Stephen Mullen, the electrician who installed the solar, was efficient, competent and a pleasure to work with. I have no reservations in recommending Albion Power to homeowners for their solar needs.
