I give five stars when I love a place so much and I know I will return to. I switched to this location recently from the Genesee location. Even though it's farther away from me, the place is amazing. There's lots of free open parking, the medical building looks amazing, but most importantly, I love my new doctor, Dr. Gore! She's patient and really listened to my concerns well. She took her time with me and I didn't feel rushed at all. Dr. Gore really cares and I felt heard. It's a one stop shop for lab, radiology, and doctor's visit.
20 plus years ago, in the heart of a community that was supposed to be built on trust and faith, a tragedy unfolded that would forever alter the course of a family's life. A family, new to the country and grappling with a language and culture not yet their own, sought the care of someone they believed could be trusted with their most precious gift--their newborn child. This caregiver, a member of their church community, ran a daycare out of her home. It was a place where many in the community left their children, believing them to be safe and nurtured. Tragically, one day, the unimaginable happened. The youngest member of the family, left in this caregiver's supervision, died. The cause of death was heartbreakingly simple yet devastating--a fatal accident during sleep that could have been prevented with the right precautions and knowledge. The sorrow that followed was immeasurable, a pain no parent should ever have to endure. In the aftermath, the caregiver, rather than facing the consequences of her actions, sought the intervention of the church's leadership. The family, vulnerable and isolated in their grief, were persuaded against seeking justice. They were new to the country, their voices barely heard, their rights barely understood. And so, the matter was silenced, the caregiver's position within the community not just preserved but, in time, elevated. This story is not just a recounting of a personal tragedy; it is a stark reminder of the vulnerabilities that exist within communities, of the responsibilities we owe to each other, and of the consequences when those responsibilities are forsaken. It is a call to action for all--to ensure the safety and well-being of every child, to listen to and support those who have suffered loss and injustice, and to hold accountable those who fail in their duties of care and trust. This serves as both a testament and a catharsis. It is a narrative that many may never hear, but one that needs to be told. It is a step toward healing, a declaration that even in the face of unimaginable loss, the strength to seek truth and justice endures.
I am happy with most of the care I receive from Sharp, but I have been disappointed with my PT care. Scheduling is a hassle -- unlike other departments that I can schedule online I have to make appointments in person or by phone. Also, appointments can only be scheduled 4 weeks in advance. I am happy with my PT provider, but frequent time off made scheduling more difficult, and then I was discharged without notice or opportunity to discuss future treatment plans. Finally, my insurance plan has a hefty copay for PT compared with other departments.
