My girlfriend and I stay here for 4 nights for our anniversary and I was fun! We had a slight hiccup when we 1st got there, but it was quickly rectified. Our room had a wonderful view of the city from our patio. When the weather permitted we could even see out to the ships that were passing by. Unfortunately our toilet was having some issues. 2 night we had to call for maintenance. But finally it was resolved as well. The highlight of our trip was making great friends with the bartender Bradley! Wow! He is a great guy! I stayed this past week at The Kimpton Alma for a work trip in San Diego and I was mind blown. This is such a gem and every detail of this hotel is so well thought out. The design and art is Mexican influence with a splash of American Traditional. The staff welcomed us with warm smiles and a craft Mezcal cocktail. To our delight, even the Mezcal was on Brand with "Alma." The Alma has their own line of Mezcal on display and the flavor did not disappoint. The rooms were SO CLEAN and comfortable! The location is close to downtown dining, drinks, and attractions. I truly cannot wait to come back and experience another stay here!
Swanky hotel in the heart of downtown San Diego, in close proximity to all San Diego has to offer. This was one of the best Kimptons I’ve stayed at. Clean, spacious rooms, welcome mezcal drink at check in, great amenities including a pool and bike rentals (which enabled me to cruise around SD in the early AM). Dog friendly is a big +. Was upgraded to a large balcony room. Robby at check in was wonderful - fantastic customer service. Valet was quick and efficient. Area around the hotel is a bit seedy - think homeless people and strip clubs - but never felt unsafe.
