I have had the pleasure of studying with Dr. Jeeyoon Kim for six years. From the first lesson, my playing improved. She provides constructive feedback and practicing techniques for difficult passages, and more importantly, helps us to discover the meaning behind the notes. With her encouragement, my confidence as a pianist has improved and I feel inspired to strive for excellence. In addition, Jeeyoon has regular group classes where we play for each other, encourage each other, learn new ways of looking at our piece, and learn music theory. In our group, we have developed close friendships and we have fun! I highly recommend Dr. Jeeyoon Kim.

I am l am adult piano student who began taking lessons from Dr. Jeeyoon Kim about 8 years ago. It is simply impossible to imagine a better piano teacher than Dr. Kim. At my age, I wanted to start to play real music right away. Dr. Kim was unerringly able to select music that I would be able to play and which I would really enjoy playing. Dr. Kim does not just teach you to play the piano, she teaches you to make music, which is different, and which is so much more important, so much more gratifying. She knows just what to do to enable you to use the piano to express your self, your deepest feelings, who you really are, through Beethoven, Mozart, Debussy, Bartok and all the others. The world of music is so deep, so rich; there is no better guide to it than Dr. Kim. Dr. Kim's approach to music and to life as a whole is so overwhelmingly positive and optimistic that studying with her has helped improve my outlook on life in every respect. She has given me confidence, energy, inner peace, and the ability to see every glass as half full. One of the best things about Dr Kim's teaching is the "piano parties." Every couple of months, all of her adult students get together at Dr. Kim's studio (where she has a Steinway B) and we play for each what we have been working on and comment on each other's playing. Then, since we have all brought food and wine, we have a party! This is wonderful -- it is hard at first to get up and play for other people, but the atmosphere at the piano parties is always so warm and receptive that the experience is always tremendously encouraging. So you get a whole new circle of friends who love music as much as you do! Beginning lessons with Dr. Kim is one of the best decisions I have ever made. Dr. Jeeyoon Kim is an exceptional piano instructor, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be studying with her as an adult pianist student. Her accolades, including the prestigious 'Top Music Teacher Award' from Steinway and Sons for 3 consecutive years, speak volumes about her expertise and dedication. Over the past seven years, Dr. Kim has not only elevated my playing to the higher level beyond my imagination but has also instilled in me more confidence and passion for music. Her positive and empowering teaching style, coupled with engaging individual lessons and supportive group master classes, have made piano study a joyous journey. The improvements in my performance have been evident not just to me but to others as well. My music study with Dr. Kim has been enriched by attending her many concerts including New York Carnegie Hall twice and in South Korea, reading her book 'Whenever You're Ready': How to Compose the Life of Your Dreams in English and in Korean, listening to her podcast: Journey Through Classical Piano, watching her YouTube Channels, and reading her newsletters.
