...Drove up from the Central Coast in search of reclaimed Douglas Fir flooring and not only did PlaceMakers have a great selection of reclaimed lumber but also found a perfect lighting fixture for our hallway *and* discovered many other cool, vintage fixtures and pieces in their showroom. What sets PlaceMakers apart from all other architectural salvage places from Berkeley to LA, is the customer service...which is so hard to find and so refreshing. Simon, Julie, Bailey - all so helpful, responsive and customer centric. A must check out!

Placemakers is an invaluable resource for salvaged antique architectural elements. We've relied on them for everything from reclaimed Douglas fir tongue and groove to stunning horsehair and plaster ceiling medallions to antique Gladding McBean laundry sinks salvaged from Northern California homes. Their inventory has been a lifesaver for our historic home preservation projects, especially since the closure of Omega Salvage in Oakland. We highly recommend visiting Placemakers for all your historic restoration needs.

Stopped in looking for material for a restoration project on an old building. LOTS of reclaimed lumber in good shape and fine for a lot of projects, the selection was amazing. The inside has some really interesting things from old. Really solid place and resource for builders and people doing restoration work.
