Dr. Barrett was one of the most unprofessional veterinarians I’ve ever worked with. I would never recommend anyone ever bring any animal to this facility. I would not trust them with my animals.

This is a place that care more about making money than taking care of your pet. Dont go here.

Dr. Barrett is a life-saver! She does surgeries with a delicacy and expertise that is hard to find these days. (Also: much less expensive than Bay Area pricing…drive 2 hours, save a grand)

My husband and I have Davies Animal Hospital as our primary vet, they did x-rays on our dog and the radiologist told us he has Osteochondritis(OCD) and to take him to a hospital that does surgery for that kind of issue. So we called this vet and they quoted us roughly $5-6k for the surgery over the phone, so we scheduled a consult and when we got there, the doctor told us we had to go to a surgeon who does Arthroscopy. Well DUH! We thought they could do the surgery but apparently they couldn't because they don't have the equipment for it. I was so pissed. Wasted $80 on a consult for Dr. Sue to just tell us we need to go somewhere else. If I would have known this when I called, we would have put the money towards a consult at another hospital who CAN do the surgery. We wasted our whole day driving one hour to this vet, one hour there for the doctor to explain what OCD is (we already knew everything she was telling us from our primary vet), and another hour driving back home. I don't think we'll be coming back ever again, since they aren't clear on communication and wasted our money and time.

Down to earth and caring Pet hospital that's first concern isn't about making as much money off you as possible but the wellbeing of your furry friends. Recommended

I called and asked if they were too busy to see my pet for an emergency and was told to rush him there. I did, and was then charged an $800 exam fee instead of the usual $250-$300. If they had told me that they were busy I would have gladly taken him to the VCA emergency room for $250. This was nothing more than price gauging!

I would give minus stars if possible. I'd also highly recommend staying as far away from this place as possible. The owner/only "doctor" gives every excuse in the book to explain away her horrible behavior and badly ran hospital! There's no dr on staff but 2-3 hours at the end of the day out of the 9 hours they are open. Dr. Barrette doesn't want to even be there for that long. If she even shows up. She called in sick like 4x in the month I was working there and the staff have to lie and say she's in emergency surgery. I can't say that I would let my worst enemy go there cause animals deserve better . It's very very short staffed because of the Dr's hostility, irrational behavior and bad medicine. The employees that works there have only been there maybe 2 months or less cause you would have to be crazy to deal with her. She can't keep anyone longer than a few months cause she can't work together with anyone, her clients or employees. She tries her hardest to work against them in every way. She said that the employees were not allowed to be friends outside of work cause that is her policy to prevent them from talking bad about her behind her back. The employees are the ones that have the pleasure of working with the clients and their animals but are the ones who look incompetent, like their not doing their job because the dr forces them to lie, not respond to messages, and does not have enough staff cause she's awful. She doesn't want to work at all, call her clients back, do refills on prescriptions, or do anything, she doesn't even show up most of the time. She tries to squeeze everything in 3 hours and gets mad cause there's so much she needs to do. She doesn't have meds in-house to keep in stock cause she can't afford it, she doesn't pay her bills so specialists won't even come to her hospital anymore. She can't even run her X-ray machine or blood machine cause the software provider (IDEXX) wasn't paid. She won't buy new tests or clips for bloodwork when they expire, she will continue to use the expired ones even though they aren't accurate results. Same with parvo & FELV/FIV tests they are also expired. She won't speak to a client on the phone. The only way a client can have a 5-10min conversation with her is to come in for a charged re-check. It's a sad situation going on at this place. I feel horrible for the employees that are left to pick up the pieces for her! This is an awful place all together. This doctor says she's been doing this for over 30 years and that's scary. She had me as only being a receptionist at a vet in the past and just starting at her hospital, monitoring a surgery of a ear cropping after I told her I didn't know how to and that I wasn't comfortable doing it but she didn't care. She said just watch the monitor and write what it says every few minutes. I sat there scared and about to cry and watched her proceed to clamp a dogs ear and start chopping half of its ear off with scissors. It was the worst thing I'd ever seen a "doctor" do! I used to think dogs were cute with clipped ears until I watched her do that. It's in humane and against everything I've ever done at animal hospitals. We're there to help them and take their pain away, not cause it! I will never think clipped ears are cute again! She doesn't appreciate her staff... that do more for her business then she does! and she definitely doesn't appreciate her clients that keep her doors open. I should have went with my gut when I was interviewing and said no thank you cause I could tell it wasn't a good fit for me. I've worked with a few people that have worked with her in the past and no one lasted more than a couple months. We all have the same story too! I've been in the field for 20 +yrs and had have never met a vet that acts like her. It's sad. At least now I can say I did find an amazing place that I work now that blows

The last straw was our dog being held hostage while they demanded a $1500+ payment from a previous visit. Once I paid, I asked casually about the rear end gland - vet grabbed my dog, walked her to the back - I heard the dog scream and then she was brought back and an extra $50 charge was tacked on. I was NOT ASKED if I agreed to the service and the charge. THEN, it turns out we HAD paid the previous visit and after a bunch of extra time, the extra payment was refunded. The cherry on top is that I took the dog to another vet and they had to lance her gland because it was so full which means that all they did was squeeze until the dog was in pain. On top of all this, I can corroborate the veterinarian's terrible treatment of staff. Avoid this place!

Not sure who wrote review about how nice the office is but it really isn't. Old furniture, even older magazines, a little drab. The younger gal at desk was always pleasant, but the older gal with glasses was rude and condescending. Ended up leaving before process was complete and gave found another vet to complete process.
