Started having an infection in one of my arms and was able to get a thorough assessment and medicine. The medicine I got though was extremely powerful in making me drowsy that I basically slept away 12 hours of my day. I thought this was the only urgent care that Mercy had to offer but there is another one in Elk Grove which I will probably go to next time because it's closer. I arrived right when they opened so the wait was less than 10 minutes. As long as you ask tons of questions the more treatment they provide. I've been here twice. Once when I required stitches for a finger injury and once after a motorcycle accident where I was having chest pain after the accident (turned out I fractured 2 ribs). I like the convenience of having all my medical records in one place since I see Mercy doctors as my primary. The urgent care notes and results are uploaded onto the Dignity app. Both times I didn't have to wait long to see a doctor (I waited 10 minutes for the finger injury, about an hour for the rib fractures). Completely useless medical care despite insurance? Sis fell & broke her shoulder. GP orders Xrays (now it's 48 hours after fall already to see GP & get the rads!) then they tell her "ortho can't see you for a week". Complained to BlueCross/BlueSheild & they say "go to ER..." Urgent care makes my sister wait 90 minutes before they bothered to tell her they really couldn't help her get a quicker appointment with someone who could do something for her fractured shoulder. "Hello human kindness" thinks waiting 9 days for ortho appointment after breaking her arm is appropriate medical care. What do you think?
