The Gender Health Center is welcoming and friendly. I appreciate that the counselors here made an effort to meet me where I was at, and worked with me on my own timeline. I have struggled to get gender affirming healthcare, but the staff here empathized with my situation and gave me useful resources to get proper medical care. I've been utilizing their services ever since I could no longer afford private health insurance AND pay for gender affirming care. A lot is changing (hopefully for the better). Gender Health is becoming integrated into general healthcare (as it should imo) and GHC has helped fill in A LOT of the holes. As a not for profit institution I genuinely think they are trying their best with the little funding they receive. Gender non conforming folks need as much help as we can get; especially with this resurgence of targeted hate speech and bigotry coinciding with our election cycles. I went to get help with my name and gender change precovid and they were extremely helpful. Later on I got help getting my letter for surgery and couldn't be more grateful for their help is making both these processes easy.
