BUYER BEWARE!. I submitted my tax information to Cross Road Tax before January 10, and spoke to Doug many times for updates. Either he didn't know what was going on, or there was an excuse. After 4.5 months, April 29 -after taxes were due-, I was informed that the taxes needed too much work, costing $5000 more. Consequently, he is returning all my information with the deposit. Doug Long is a great salesman and uses his age and experience to win your confidence. I was fully transparent regarding the work that needed to be done, and he sat on it, waiting until past tax season to even look at it.

Doug was friendly enough when I met them and when I could get them on the phone. I filed my taxes here in 2021. They were clearly overloaded (they had a software issue that year), and didn't get things filed until the extension date in October. Emails replies were usually "we're working on it."**I would have been much happier if they were honest and said they were too busy and recommended another preparer.**Worse part: I got a new guy in 2022, and when we reviewed the 2021 tax filing, there were many basic errors (that I could catch myself), like missing W-2 entries. Cool the first time. Nice people, but slow. They tried to blame it on the pandemic, but they misread emails and forgot certain things they did. Had to redo forms and processes. It's taking 3 months to get money back! Not thorough and consistent.
