“We had our Luke here for the last 7 years... unfortunately, we were called to carry out the humane pet parent task and helped Luke cross the rainbow bridge on Saturday, July 18. Staff is compassionate, calming, reassuring, professional, understanding of our sadness, this process, and the grieving. We have a private cremation for Luke. The selection of urn choices is nice. Isabelle is the BEST. She is a kind soul - I asked a special favor, and Isabelle provided my heart with comfort during this most difficult time in my life. Luke is the best boy ever, my sweet sweet Luke, my pooh bear, Sir Luke, Cool Hand Luke, Luke bear, my companion, my best friend. We had 13 years together, and 130 years would have been insufficient. I lay on the floor with Luke and listened to his struggling, labored breaths and knew we were helping him, not letting him suffer, keeping him comforted. Luke was not alone; I am writing my love letter to My Luke and putting together a photo album. These were the best 13 years of my life. There will never be another My Luke. I will always remember you, Luke. I will always talk to you, Luke. I can take you camping and have you in every room of our house. Right beside me, where you always were. My velcro dog, my shadow, my greeter, treat hound, attention hound, no matter where in the house I was he was here also. I prayed for Luke to go in his sleep so I did not have to make this terrible decision. G-d; however, knew what I needed and I was allowed one last snuggle with Luke, one last ear rub with Luke, one last belly rub with Luke. Thank you G-d every day for the gift of Luke in my life. I will miss EVERYTHING about you my sweet sweet boy.”
