“My family has been bringing our pets to River Oak for 20+ years. Dr. Shaner and staff went out of their way to save our dog, Pearl, when she was hit by a car as a pup. They performed extensive surgeries including grafting of skin to save her life. She has passed but her portrait is beautifully displayed in their office as is our cat, Moo. Since than we have had the our pets in the care of Dr. Chatfield, and Dr. Drew. Dr. Chatfield went above and beyond when my puppy Cody had ear issues. With her care, knowledge and guidance, he was able to overcome and did not require surgery. Most recently they went out of their way to get my Bailey in to confirm if she may have a problematic pregnancy in an emergency. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful we are that we have River Oak Veterinary to care for our loved ones in the most dire times. Despite the changes in vet staffing, the level of care has never faltered and I whole heartedly will continue to recommend and celebrate the entire staff of River Oak.“

“They were very patient with our dog and did a thorough checkup on him. We came in to have a mass looked at and they did a full check up. They calmed our fears and scheduled him for surgery“

Dr Nguyen is a very compassionate and knowledgeable doctor, who goes above and beyond for the care of his furry friends!

Today was our very first visit with Dr Nguyen at this amazing hospital, the entire staff was very friendly and totally loving on our golden doodle, Bentley! For the very first time , our boy was completely chill and generally happy to be around a veterinarian/ hospital setting. lol

The doctor took his time to explain everything to us in detail and we never felt rushed ….
Their prices too are very reasonable…

“I don't know much about this place we just went there when our one dog had to be put to sleep she had a twisted stomach and we had switched her to canned food and it was Old Roy brand and basically she got emaciated on it and because of the emaciation from that we couldn't do the surgery to straighten out a stomach she was just too sickly from it. She was however double her life expectancy which is usually 9 years she was 18 the vets were very impressed.“

“Almost a year ago my dog suffered what was diagnosed as a type of stroke. I only ended up at sisk because it was the closest to my home in my emergency. That being said, the entire staff was beyond empathetic, understanding, making what I was thinking would be my dogs last day. Thankfully he slowly came out of it and has made almost a full recovery. The Dr. was extremely explanatory in options and continued care. For this reason, I will be taking him back for an ear issue he's continued to have that the seemingly "top clinic" in Escalon couldn't seem to get a handle on.“

“I have used this vet twice, and received fantastic service from caring staff and really well skilled vets.
When the lab the blood test was sent to for my mare's Coggins test lost the sample, the vet came an hour drive to my house to redraw the blood that day for no charge. I had the results back in less than 24 hours so our trip went on as planned.
When I brought my beloved horse, whom I had for 25 years, for his final rest, I was given the most compassion that I have EVER had at a vet hospital. Over the last 50+ years of owning horses and doing a lot of rescue, I have never had such compassion from a vet and staff. This is absolutely the best equine vet in the Central Valley, hands down.“

I am positive that she has extended the life of my 13 year old Westie after a major surgery to remove a 1 lb. tumor from his chest wall. They are gentle caring compassionate. They go above and beyond other duties. And what is expected of them? They treat all of my animals like they are their own.“

“The staff is so friendly and helpful, to get an appointment is not difficult, and they even text to check in about your pets days after the appointment to make sure everything is going well. They are very efficient and so far have done wonderful helping my pets. I am willing to pay whatever I need to get my fur babies taken care of, but the price is my only complaint. They are very expensive. With that being said, I am grateful that they do take good care of my pets“
