I highly recommend G A Roofing, they do amazing work for a great price. The professionalism is incredible. Scott helped me with everything we needed. If you need your roof replaced this company will do a great job.
About a year ago we hired GA Roofing to repair a leak on our Spanish clay tile roof. Scott was very helpful in scoping the project. They redid a section of the roof. There were close to 10 people on the roof. We are happy with the results. A year later we had some plumbers install new vents for the furnace and water heater in the area that GA had reset. I had GA check the roof to see if it looked like a good seal around the pipes. Scott went up and looked, thought it was a good seal. No charge! Great continued customer service.
I got 3 estimates. One for 36k (3X what I ultimately paid) which they quickly lowered to 22K once I was about to walk. What does that tell you? Another who GUESSED (caps because there should be no guessing in a roofing estimate, only well-defined contingencies both verbally and in contract) that there were 4 layers of shingles for a house built in the early 70's which couldn't be even a 20 years a layer. I suspected he was softening me up and would be padding the price. Turns out his was double what I ended up paying and therecwer only 2 layers to remove. I saved GA for last because I had a solar project that went off the rails on my primary residence that left me with an open roof when rains were predicted. The solar company and sub-contractor had a stalemate and I was looking at having to pay for repair myself. I liked Tino who exuded confidence, expertise and was definitely not a slick salesman type. He took a look and gave me an estimate but I got through that logjam and didn't need it when solar company and sub-contractor stopped bickering after I threatened to have someone else do it then call police if they tried to enter property. So I got 3rd estimate from GA and got no BS from estimator Scot who, like Tino, was a straight shooter. He explained what might raise the price over the quoted base price. He gave rates per linear foot for replacement of facia and plywood should it be bad and need to be replaced. That was also spelled out precisely in contract and went a long ways to building trust and a realization that I'd not have to micromanage, look over their shoulders or be suspicious. The base price was 1/3 of first estimate and half of the other. Once trust was built we were on the same wavelength. It helped grease the wheels that I explained how I had to give estimates during my working life and know that you can't tell what you got until you "get in there and take a look" I knew it could cost a little more and he knew I wouldn't mind if it did because I'd seen crappy roof jobs with problems after 10 years when either owner or roofer wanted to cut corners. I didn't want to endure such torture as I had once on a house I bought with which prior owner cut corners. That cost me a bundle in the long run. You don't want to be penny-wise and pound foolish when it comes to the roof over your head, but neither do you want to be gouged. Scot had also explained how second estimate which that had been guesstimated at 4 layers was impossible given the timeframe. I could tell it wasn't sniping or competitiveness but rather an educated guess baed on years in the profession. And Scot turned out to be spot on with his judgment. I can't sing their praises enough. I lucked into finding the group of true professionals from estimators down to every last guy on the crew. You don't need to second guess these guys and you can't do any better than them. What a relief it is 1) not to be gouged and 2) to have the trust to kick back and let them guide you while they git 'r dun. I will sleep well at night given my confidence in it having been done right without being haunted by leaks and many small, expensive repairs as I had in the past.
