They're defined by the staff who work there. The staff you have is a reflection of your management, which in turn depends on who is hiring and promoting leadership. In short, the people make the place. The reason I consider this Ulta one of the best around is because of one particular person, Anthony. I say this from the bottom of my heart. I've been to multiple beauty stores, including other locations of the same chain, and none of them treated me with the attentiveness and honesty that Anthony did. I don't have expertise in beauty products, and it can be frustrating when staff don't admit they're unfamiliar with something. Honesty .."I'm not familiar with this, but here's what I can recommend" .. is priceless. I approached Anthony because, from the moment I saw him, he seemed approachable and genuinely friendly. My mother even suggested asking him, noting that he looked like someone who could help. Anthony greeted us warmly and immediately made us feel comfortable. You can instantly tell when someone is faking it or just going through the motions, and he was the opposite. He balanced assisting me while handling interruptions from colleagues, all without making me feel rushed. Anthony listened to my concerns, shared his knowledge, and recommended products that completely transformed my skin. He was honest about what he did and didn't know, shared his experience, and gave advice based on what he genuinely knew would help. He even helped me select the right makeup tone! something I've wasted HUNDREDS of dollars trying to figure out elsewhere. I hope this review encourages everyone, customers, employees, and management alike, to be kind. Anthony wasn't just doing his job. He could have been like other staff I've asked at this same Ulta , they're rude, dismissive, not wanting to be bothered, looking like they didn't want to help with my questions. Beyond Anthony, I also appreciate that this location is consistently well-stocked. I've been to other stores where products are often missing or damaged, but here I can always find what I need. Whoever manages inventory here is doing a fantastic job. Anthony is a prime example of why people make an establishment great. I hope management recognizes him for the outstanding work he does. Went in just for an another STAR chapstick, I am obsessed with them. This location had WAY more options than the Compton and Lakewood Ulta. I got my go to regular and I'm trying out the strawberry! Octavio was my cashier he was super sweet. Definitely a quick and successful trip!
So sad to learn that Veronica left. She was great! I will be following her to her new location. I am disappointed that I wasn't made aware of her resignation when I had an appointment booked with her. My appt was just updated to a new stylist without confirming I was okay with it. I assume if I never looked at my apt ahead of time I wouldn't have known until the day of my appointment.
