My rescue dog has trust issues with strangers, so grooming appointments are usually stressful for both of us. The groomer here crouched down first and let him sniff around instead of immediately grabbing the leash. That small moment made a huge difference in how calm he stayed afterward. They avoided using loud dryers near his face and kept the session shorter like I requested. When we got home, he acted normal instead of anxious, which almost never happens after grooming visits.
I have a 16 yr old Yorkiepoo that looks like a miniature Poodle. He's almost completely deaf. He gives groomers a very hard time with doing his nails and face. He was going to a business where other dogs were kept in cages while they wait their turn. I came across mobile grooming on Facebook.
