About Pomona Cemetery
Pomona Cemetery is a place of remembrance and respect. The cemetery holds an annual Memorial Day service in its historic section, featuring music from the Pomona City Orchestra, speeches, and a wreath-laying ceremony honoring Civil War soldiers. Visitors appreciate the cemetery's attentive staff who go the extra mile, such as cleaning tombstones and providing designated areas for flowers. Pomona Cemetery has also hosted diverse funeral services, including a recent Muslim burial that was conducted with traditional practices. Attendees praised the respectful and helpful staff during this service. Family members express gratitude for the smooth process and find comfort in the cemetery's peaceful setting, which allows them to remember their loved ones.
Very creepy and beautiful. I'm really into creepy stuff and I highly respect the fallen. My dad said he used to ride his bike down this area at night and he got the chills everytime he passes by there. Creepy.?
I want to say Thank you to Isabelle. I live in Oklahoma and came last week to the cemetary where my Dad was buried. He died 3 months before I was born. I called the day before to let them know Iwas coming. When we gotthere, Isabelle had gone out and cleaned the tombstone and the area around it. She also had a place for us to put flowers near it.She went above and beyond to make our visit a great one! I will be forever grateful for her kindness!
Our family went to a Memorial Day service here at Pomona Cemetery which they have every year. It is held in the very old part of the cemetery with a monument to the Union Civil War soldiers buried on the grounds. The Pomona city Orchestra was on hand to play patriotic music, congresspeople gave speeches, the American Legion placed a large flower wreath in front of the Civil War monument. The program is only about a hour and well worth checking out. If you go next year, make sure to bring your own folding chair as none are provided.
