My 7-year-old son has been attending Kokua Martial Arts Studio for about two months now, and the experience has been nothing short of amazing. The promotional offer was a fantastic way to start, including a uniform, which made the transition even smoother.
The staff at Kokua is absolutely incredible—patient, supportive, and truly dedicated to each child's growth. One of my biggest concerns before enrolling my son was his struggle with ADHD and defiance, which impacted both his school performance and home life. I believed martial arts could help him build self-confidence, respect, and focus—and I can confidently say that Kokua has exceeded my expectations.

The boys benefit from a wide range of different techniques - Karate one week, jiu jutsu another week. But aside from the high quality of martial arts instruction, I've also seen my boys develop in terms of focus & discipline due to the tough love given from the Sifu's. I also love how they have a "mat chat" every session where the Sifu's bring in some lesson about respect, trust, hard work (or whatever value they're focusing on for the week). The dojo is also a small / tight-knit community, everyone knows everyone & it's pretty...read full review
