I have had eye exams before, but this was my sons first time.
The doctor explained everything very carefully and in a way that was easy to understand. I am truly grateful that we found such a wonderful eye doctor.
All of the staff were also very nice, and everything went smoothly.

My [neurodivergent] son and I had our first eye exam with Dr. Chen today. He'd had past eye exams annually, but i wanted to find a place that had more experience working with kids and my research led me to Amador Valley optometry. Iris and Dr Chen were both amazing working with my son who was nervous. They took the time to explain everything and were really patient when he was hesitant. I got an eye exam as well and really appreciated the thoroughness and explaining the results and the tests. There was also no wait to get started (we had appts), we were able to book appts quickly and the office overall is bright, modern and clean. I live further away and went to a closer practice last year but quickly realized a significant difference with the service and bedside manner. It was a bad mistake and quickly realized I should have stuck with Dr Chen. She and her staff are friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. I highly recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
