Dr. Chan should just retire. This place is so old school. Does not email, no digital imagining, x-ray is still on film (imagine the pain to get your medical record to another vet). During my appointment, she cut up an old x-ray film, stapled it around my dog's neck to be used as a cone on my 8lbs dog and told me to keep it on for a week to stop him from licking his paw. For those that aren’t familiar with x-ray film it’s a flimsy plastic sheet with sharp edges when cut, kind of like paper, that will cut into the skin.
I adopted a senior dog from the shelter with no medical history so came here for a full check up. I was the last appointment before lunch/end of the day for her, and Chan was running really behind. I waited 30 minutes for my appointment and she was really rushed when she saw us.…obviously she wanted to end her day. She did a quick check of my dog and called it done less than 5 mins in, if that, so she could leave. I stopped her from walking out the door as I had some questions, which her receptionist told me I could ask during my appointment. Chan was not having it, but I was able to squeeze in one question and got the x-ray cut out as a response. I'm not sure why she felt she had the right to be annoyed considering she was the one who ran overtime with her other appointments that caused her to be late to whatever she was rushing to get to. Seriously, the annoyance should be coming from me for waiting 30 minutes, not giving me the full appointment time, and still be charged full price. Needless to say money and time wasted and I had to go to another vet who actually did the check up and helped ID’d some issues and gave proper suggestions.

Hands down the BEST vet in the Bay Area. I moved an hour away and still make the drive to see Dr. Chan and Nicole because no vets compare to the quality care they provide. They’ve seen my German Shepherd mix since she was 10 weeks old. She is now 4.5 years old. They performed her spay surgery, they do her vaccinations, and they successfully address every medical issue we’ve experienced outside of routine visits. I’ve tried finding a vet closer to my new home, but every single one lacks transparency and tries to upsell services we don’t need. Amador Pet Hospital is an honest, no-nonsense vet that consistently provides high-quality care at a reasonable cost. They keep my beloved girl healthy and thriving. I refuse to go anywhere else.

Dr. Chan has been taking care of my pets for over 30 years!!! She is the best Veterarian I could have hoped to find for my dear furry friends. Over the years she has taken care of my 4 dogs and at least 8 cats! I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone that is professional, caring and honest. Thank you Dr. Chan for having such a big heart to care for our beloved pets.

Dr Chan & Nicole are the best! We brought our 12yr old dog who's teeth were bothering him. They took care of him and he was good as new in no time. Prices were very reasonable too! We loved them so much, we've decided to make them our new vet!

Our husky developed very low appetite and low energy and I remember Dr. Chan from my previous Husky's she took very good care of our Tilly which developed Pyometra we we're able to take her home same day and she's recovering. I would definitely recommend Amador Pet Hospital and Dr. Chan

Our little girl is an absolute handful! And we Thank Doctor Chan 1000 time for saving our little princess. We were looking for a vet the could get us in and was told by a friend about how great Dr. Chan is. Every visit we feel as though she listens to everything and understands the needs of our dogs. We have gone to many other places and Dr. Chan and Nicole are by far the most helpful and caring towards my dogs. Our little boy Roo hurt himself jumping off a bed and about 5 different places told us we needed blood work and when we called Amador vet we found out that we didn't need blood work just some pain meds and something to keep him calm. Because the doctor was able to listen to what we had to say and not try to do unnecessary tests, my pocket book and my dog were very appreciative of our switch to this vet. Their rates are extremely reasonable and we would 10/10 recommend them.

I have nothing but great things to say about Dr. Chan and Nicole. They are both extremely knowledgeable, caring, and Just all around outstanding ladies . This place saved my dogs life, they did an emergency surgery on her and they were with us all the way through the recovery process. This location has outstanding customer service and I would recommend them to anybody who's looking for quality vet care for their pet. I have gone to plenty of vets in Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, and this location is by far the best.
