5 stars for gentle, compassionate care minus 2 for being extraordinarily expensive. I’ve been looking around for a cat-centric vet for my 11 year old semi-feral since our last vet retired. The reviews sounded great for this place and while alarm bells briefly rang when they said they take a $210 deposit for a first visit, they could get me in relatively soon which was a bonus. The location is convenient but the building, while clean, is frankly shabby. (That doesn’t matter as to quality of care but it should factor in for the price you pay!) Cons: An initial exam is $210, that does not include blood work, urinalysis, nor the Gabapentin that I didn’t want (or realize was $62.) My grand total for an initial senior exam was well over $800! Pros: the vet was excellent with my timid, stressed cat, very gentle and thorough which I much appreciated. I look forward to the follow up and hope that outstanding care will offset the high prices otherwise I will be looking elsewhere.

This place is amazing. I am always happy with the vet and staff they care and will explain things to you in detail. It's a cozy place and they also teach you how to do your cat's IV at home so they can be comfortable towards the older years.I trust them with my cat, and I will continue to take my cat and any more cats I get here to be seen. Prices are also reasonable as well.

We've been taking our cats to the Cat Hospital for several years. The staff is always very friendly and superb with our felines. Dr. Hertzel is so knowledgeable and thorough, and I trust her expertise wholeheartedly. We'd recommend the Cat Hospital to anyone.

The Cat Hospital has taken care of three generations of cats in my family now and they've always been so kind and thoughtful to us and our cats, the only thing that would make me consider taking my cats to any other vet is if I left Sonoma county! Staff shows so much genuine care for us and have always been very collaborate with our kitties' health, especially when it came to managing the care of my senior cat. Never felt like they pushed anything that wasn't important on me, always very clear with what is going on and what needs to be done, and I know every dime I've spent with them has always been put into providing great care. I am honestly always recommending this place to everyone looking for a new cat vet!
