An amazing place to learn and dance Lindy Hop. The lessons are great both in terms of materials and instructions. There is a social dance after the lesson, which is a good place to practice. I wish it was not in the middle of the week, so that I could stay longer!
Love love love this community event. Every Wednesday, a group meets here for a series of dance classes that you can sign up for in advance or show up at the door and pay a little extra. From 7:15-8:15 PM is technical or social dance, usually geared towards those who already have some background in swing dance. Beginner classes last from 8:15-9:15 PM. And 9:30 onwards is social dance for everyone. If you have never tried partner dancing before, Wednesday Night Hop is a great way to get started. I'd recommend joining the beginner class series (4 weeks) to start, or if you don't want to commit, try out a teaser class any Wednesday of the month.
Got a gift certificate to attend this, and have been back a number of months. Really a great, low-pressure way to learn ballroom dance. The teachers are OK. The classes are really large. The students are really helpful. They have live music after classes once a month. And a lot of good amateur dancers to watch and help you hone your moves.
