The entire staff are very approachable, and promote a family friendly environment where you or you kids can learn jiujitsu from skilled instructors. They often host free community outreach programs for women’s self defense and anti-bullying classes for kids 6+. Both me and my son train here, and we especially love the parents and kids classes on Saturday morning to bond with each other and sharpen our skills on the mats!

The wife and I were looking into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for our son in the area and found Gracie Barra Oceanside. When we first arrived we were greeted by Junior and Professors Doug and Phil. They were so welcoming. I knew this was the place for him because immediately after, he asked when he can come back. I also decided to join the team and start training because I had a little bit of experience but nothing formal. My daughter and I began training at GB Oceanside around the same time, and it has been an incredible experience for both of us. Jiu Jitsu is the first extracurricular activity my daughter has truly fallen in love with and shown genuine passion for. Almost immediately, her interest grew from wanting to train once a week to asking to train every night she possibly can.
