The wife and I were looking into Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) for our son in the area and found Gracie Barra Oceanside. When we first arrived we were greeted by Junior and Professors Doug and Phil. They were so welcoming. I knew this was the place for him because immediately after, he asked when he can come back. I also decided to join the team and start training because I had a little bit of experience but nothing formal. It’s also a great way to bond with your kids because you understand what it’s like to train and can grow together. The skills they learn here at Gracie Barra will last a lifetime and will be something they can rely on, on and off the mats. My daughter and I began training at GB Oceanside around the same time, and it has been an incredible experience for both of us. Jiu Jitsu is the first extracurricular activity my daughter has truly fallen in love with and shown genuine passion for. From their easy learning structure, to the simple connections I can form on the mats. For example, never did I ever expect to meet my best friends on the mats. My son has been going to Gracie Barra Oceanside for almost a year & we love it. He loves to wrestle and engage physically and so BJJ has given him a great outlet for this. He also thrives in settings with good leadership and Gracie Barra provides a wonderful mix of nurturing, disciplined, & empowering guidance for the youngsters.
Safety is a big emphasis and so my son is leaning the skills of BJJ alongside how to protect himself & his fellow teammates. Because there are ample coaches on the mat during classes, the kids get a lot of one-on-one instruction & supervision in the class setting. I’ve seen my son develop more confidence in himself over the year and learn more self control. I highly recommend GB Oceanside!

Family owned and operated with emphasis on community and brotherhood. I looked around for a while for my boys before choosing a school and was hooked after the intro class. I think we have been here almost two years now. Great pricing with discounts for additional family members and you can go to ANY school but this is the Best! 🤙🏼

As my first jiu jitsu school i am continuously impressed day in and day out with what is taught, the family like environment, and the joyful spirits that this places offers. Every student and professor is so friendly and willing to help each other making me want to come back each day to not only improve my own skill, but also just to see the other people that attend.
