I have to start off by saying that while getting my nails done here, this review was being drafted in my mind and I am just now putting my thoughts onto the platform. Basically this place is amazing. It's a completely chill environment, very calm and a decent size. It's not as large as most salons that I have been to in terms of like the amount of chairs that there are but it's definitely one of the nicer ones, I would say. It's worth it. It's a little bit more on the higher end of pricing than what I'm accustomed to paying even though there are some really great nail salons, but I feel like there's a difference between a nail shop and a nail salon. I feel like this place really makes that clear for me, check it out sometime.
I bounce from several different nail salons for several reasons but lately I started looking for a shop that is affordable with great quality.. I hit the holy grail with Corner Nail Bar! They are excellent and definitely my go-to salon! They are so friendly and nice. They offer you a complimentary drink. Depending on the packages you get too, they use different scrubs you can choose from. It feels like a whole mini spa. I ended up getting a classic pedicure in early January, and my toes still look like they were done recently! Also, with being on the corner of a street with a big window, you see some of the action that takes place in Oakland and the ladies will chat with you and make you feel so included in their conversations. I really enjoyed my time here!
This review is based on the service and hospitality alone- the place is hard to miss if you're not familiar with the area and kind of small, but the quality and care the nail technician and front desk provides makes up for it. I was taken care of by Kevin- my usual nail place is in SF, however I had time to kill and was in dire need of taking my dip nail set off as a few of my nails broke already. They saw me right away as a walk in on a Friday afternoon and offered tea which was nice. My manicure was done efficiently and done meticulously. They do not rush their service and actually want to get to know their customers. The other ladies being serviced were also well taken care of. Cash is preferred, but venmo, cash app, card are alternative options.
