Wonderful venue! Staff are very kind and accommodating as well as a gorgeous and picturesque location and hall. The Rite is a favorite of halls I've visited. Everytime I go it feels as if I'm walking through a castle. Definitely a must see place and site to host an event!

I'm in love with this building. I've been to many events here: an opera performance, dinners and meetings. The architecture has so much eye candy for people who enjoy 1920's buildings. Solid wood doors and paneling, decorative ceilings, vintage tile floors, expansive spaces. The women's lounge on the first floor brings me back to a by-gone era of "let's freshen our lipstick and powder our nose." If you have an opportunity to go to an event here, take it.

From Oakland Scottish Rite Center

The Oakland Scottish Rite Center was completed in 1927, with over a thousand craftsmen working on the project. The construction cost was approximately $1.5 million. This was a sizeable sum at the time equivalent to about $22 million today. From ground breaking to completion the edifice was erected in just two years. This is the second temple in Oakland built from the ground up by the Scottish Rite Masonic fraternity since 1883, when it was first chartered in Oakland.
