I went to see Wanda Dabkoska L.Ac., the proprietor of Kokoro clinic, on the advice of a friend (Thank you, Amber!). I had developed eczema, and my Kaiser dermatologist was disappointing in his blase attitude and prescription for steroidal ointment, which had minimal impact. Wanda took a much larger view of the problem, including diet, personal and work habits, and my mental state. She suggested a food sensitivity test, and offered acupuncture and an herbal remedy intended to generally help my skin. She suggested some changes in diet and habits, and told me that the problem, which at that time had lasted more than a year, would likely take several months to improve. She was right. But after just a few weekly treatments, i started to see physical improvement, and the itching started to relent. The rash stopped spreading. And I just generally felt better. Now, after about 4 months of treatment, the rash is about 90% gone, there have been no new outbreaks in more than a month, and there is no itching. I feel like a new person! In addition, a couple of spots of annoying arthritis were also greatly improved by a few well-placed needles! Wanda is not a miracle worker. She is better - a true healer who pays attention, considers ALL of the possibilities and digs deep to understand the entire patient, not just an isolated area of distress. I can't recommend Wanda's services highly enough. I have had acupuncture from several partitioners, and so recognize that she has excellent technique, with the lightest touch. She is happy to explain what she is doing and is knowledgeable in many modes of healing. I enjoyed working with her and look forward to my next visit. BTW, the clinic itself it a pleasure to visit. I’ve been to a lot of Acupuncturists and Wanda is by far the most caring, attuned (I love how specific she is when reading my pulse), and lovely human that I’ve been in care with.
