Hands down the most talented, compassionate, attentive, and smartest stylist I’ve had the pleasure of getting my hair done by. I found Nepenthes (Eric) through Yelp in downtown Oakland. Like most of you, I’m very particular about my hair. About a year ago, Nepenthes transformed my limp, thinning hair into a sophisticated bob. I feel elegant and beautiful every time I get my hair done and often receive compliments. Love the pre-cut scalp and hair pampering as well. The location and decor of the studio are an added bonus. This is an inclusive space and I am always taken care of; I can’t recommend Nepenthes enough.
I've been going to Eric for several years now - he is a great stylist and is always willing to give helpful recommendations. He does excellent work, whether you're looking for a fresh cut or a new color. Over the years he has given me a pixie cut, balayage, root shadows, and more and I have always been happy with the results. Salon is conveniently located in downtown Oakland and a private, comfortable space also!
Eric did an amazing job on my hair! I went in with the intention of hoping that they could help fix a root touchup that I had done elsewhere, but we decided mid-appointment to go turn my hair a mix of purple and steel, and it came out beautifully. Could not have asked for a better job!And not only are they talented at their work, but Eric is a very welcoming and fun person to chat with while you’re waiting for your hair to process. Highly recommend them if you’re want someone who’s great with hair and also a genuinely wonderful person to chat with.
