I had Rick repair the arm of a chair that I got for a steal but couldn't stand the disrepair it was in (it's the reason it was a bargain). I found Acorn Restoration and Rick. They did amazing work. Couldn't tell it wasn't ever broken. Next I have two matching chairs that needing stripping and repair. Sometime in the past they were painted black. Rick and his team stripped them down and found beautiful red mahogany. They are beautiful and I can't say enough great things about Acorn Restoration and Rick Vallejo. Thank you.
Rick is awesome to work with! Over the summer he restored a hope chest that belonged to my grandmother and it turned out great. He was fast and communicated well during the process to make sure he got the desired stain shade just right. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I noticed a water mark stain caused by a felt pad at the bottom of a vase on my new(ish) Restoration Hardware table. Rick made two trips to my home and took the time and effort to asses the piece. Instead of fixing it on the spot with what supplies he had, he waited to come back a second time when he had the right materials that would work better on the table. An extra step that I really appreciate. The stain is virtually gone. In addition, he advised me on how to better care for the table and left some supplies so I can treat the table and avoid stains in future. He is very knowledgeable, responsive, and great sense of humor! For sure will use again for all my furniture/restoration needs!
I can say enough about the great job they did on my 1958 Baker dining table, it looks new, so the chairs are next. Rick a big shout out to you and your team for a job well done, It's not easy theses days to keep and train and foster talented trad folks, but you sure have an outstanding job!
