On my first visit to Dr. Paul's office, I talked about my ongoing pain and numbness on my whole left side. I had symptoms going on since 2016. On my first reflex test with Dr. Paul, I could feel how different the muscle/nerve response was compared to my right side. I had lost 90% of my grip on my left hand, barely felt my left leg, and had unbearable pain for someone my age (27). Some of you reading this may be, like I was, skeptical of chiropractic medicine. My first discussion with Dr. Paul was very frank. I had an L4-L5 herniated disc causing sciatica in my left leg so serious it was difficult to walk. Additionally, I had had the same problem 20 years earlier (although L5-S1) which had not been resolved via chiropractic care. I ultimately had a discectomy. I told Dr. Paul I was not sure I "believed in" chiropractic medicine and asked if he could help. To his credit, he was equally frank. In 2018 I suffered a crippling disk injury that nearly changed my life for the worse. For almost two years I suffered with extreme pain, muscle spasms, and numbness. My mobility was rapidly declining and I was loosing weight at the same rate. I was forced to give up my basketball career, and any type of physical activity.
