Classic Auburn. The website and Google Maps say they are open to either 3pm or 4pm depending on the source. Then I show up and find out they close at 1pm. Auburn's business culture is weird. Happens all the time.
I run a small stonemasonry business and I've used A & A for a few projects over the years, but since being bought by SiteOne their policies have changed and they're no longer as friendly to contractors as they used to be. You now need to be present in person to by stone, which is a problem for my business because I generally make a trip to the yard to take pictures and samples to pitch to my clients, and once we've made a decision I place the order by phone. This means I need to make 2 trips to the yard for every project, which is not required by any of the other local stone yards. Additionally, they don't allow "first time" customers to pay over the phone, and even thought I've bought thousands of dollars of stone from this company they no longer have my information on file. This place is probably still fine for homeowners, but for contractors I'd recommend sticking to Cascade Rock or Mid Valley Rock.
Doesn't look like much from the road but this is my favorite stone veneer showroom in the region. Liz is an absolute pro that's able to calculate veneer, block, and rock down to a T. Good follow up by phone, email, as well for large orders and delivery scheduling. This is my go-to for complex job calcs and above board pricing for CalStone, Basalite, Belguard, El Dorado Stone & Creative Mines.
