Don't pick Peggy to do your taxes if you want someone to do a brief once over. She will go through your tax info thoroughly and not skip a beat. She is quick to point out tax situations that can help you and is a wealth of knowledge regarding all kinds of tax situations. I totally trust her with my taxes, her keeping up with new tax laws, and never worry that she might miss something.

I asked Peggy Hall to have a look at my tax return that I already filled with Turbo Tax, to just check for errors, she spent on the zoom with me at most 15 minutes , asked if I adjust the base points when reporting stock sales and advised on charitable contributions reporting. Then she said that the price for the session was $295.00! Not for preparing or filing taxes, but just for a 15 minutes of her time. She did not disclose the price of the service at any time before the conversation. If I knew of how much it would have costed me, I would surely not have agreed to that this. Maybe if your taxes are simple and straightforward Hall of Taxes may be a good fit for you, but I have a small business and they completely, utterly and inexplicably botched my tax return. I went to them because my accountant had retired. I had never had problems with filing before. Hall of Taxes calculated my tax liability by over $1000, which I found out after I'd sent in a check and then got a letter from the IRS alerting me to this fact. Our communication felt needlessly incessant because they didn't seem to understand things accountants ought to know and then they billed me for more than twice I've ever paid to have my taxes done.
