From my first appointment at this office I felt like a part of the family. I started going to Monterey Family Chiropractic because of chronic pain and discomfort in my lower and mid-back. I was extremely happy to find that my insurance was accepted and it would only be $10 out of pocket per visit. I am a caddie and didnt have insurance for a long time, so many ailments began to pile up and back pain was the most reoccurring problem in my life. Also, as a golfer it became impossible to finish 18 holes strongly or not be completely out of commission the next day.
My first visit to the office was anything but a pointless consultation. It was a very thorough and no guess work kind of examination. Dr. Karter Ruiz (or as he likes to be called, Karter) was quick to diagnose almost every issue after looking at my X-Rays, thermographic scans and doing a physical examination. He explained everything that was going on with me very clearly and precisely. Not just my back, but posture and lifestyle choices that can lead to all these problems. He came up with a plan and a clear road map to feeling my best. I started visiting 3x/week. Those sessions saw constant progression. At the end of the first month I felt like a new person. I can't even imagine how much better it would have been if I did all the rotational and strength exercises I should have been doing at home, of which I did very little. Even so, I could golf again and when I came home from work I felt like I could keep going instead of plopping down on the couch for the rest of the night.
I have been to 3 chiropractors offices in the Monterey area. They were all the same, in and out in 3-5 minutes after doing the exact same adjustments which just help for a day. Karter went above and beyond multiple times throughout our 2 months of treatment. I would have a new or extra symptom that day and he would always do what was needed to provide some relief. He really knows his stuff and has a very positive and upbeat attitude every day.
Overall, I just really enjoy the experience from the time I walk in and am greeted by Stephanie or Yadi, to the time the adjustment is over and Karter puts a really nice corrective posture pillow under your head. No rushing you out, just lay there for a few minutes and relax.
I’ve been to multiple chiropractors for chronic pain, now I feel like my body is working the way it should. I’m grateful to everyone in this practice. It changed my life.
I’ve been going to Monterey Family Chiropractic for years…Dr. Ruiz and the staff are the best!
