Lack of communication from the office to the doctors to the patient. Misinformation about their services. Surprise billing different from quote. But it doesn't matter that they have poor communication, because they are the only ones in the area doing these services. That is until Kaiser permanente builds their new facility in Marina and gives them competition.

Just had 2 procedures at Monterey Bay GI. From pre-op to check in, to post-op everything was great. The doctors were amazing and within a few hours I was back feeling 100%. A HUGE thank you for my fabulous nurse Monique. She helped keep me calm and did an amazing job with my IV. It is very rare for me to not to bruise when having any blood work or IV and I left without a single mark! Thank You!

I saw Dr. Jan Kamler this week after a recurring problem with severe acid reflux. I had complained to many doctors about this and had no real relief. Finally I was referred to Dr. Kamler and was delighted that he took my problem seriously. He recognized that this is painful, disruptive and inhibiting. He immediately diagnosed the problem and prescribed two serious medications which almost immediately curtailed my unpleasant symptoms. I can enjoy eating and drinking and socializing again and I'm so grateful. He was very pleasant and attentive and humorous. A great diagnostician and a real charmer too. Maggie

This review is for people doing their first routine colonoscopy. This is an important preventative procedure, and I was nervous after reading the reviews of this place, so I wanted to write a review for someone else who might feel the same way. I met with Dr. Le months before my procedure. He was great and spent time answering all my questions. I understand you can have this procedure with or without anesthesia and with or without an anesthesiologist. You might want to ask your doctor about that. I picked the Ryan Ranch location. I received very clear prep instructions and read them immediately, picking up my prep material and understanding what I could and couldn't eat in the week before my procedure. Make sure you read the instructions in advance. Make sure you follow all the instructions on the prep. They call you two days before and give you the exact time to check-in. There are two important things to know about this facility. One, they had four separate doctors, each with a full schedule, running their patients through this relatively small facility. They don't work together. And two, they are very siloed. They only know their job and nothing else. It's not bad; it's just efficient. But if you are nervous going it and have a lot of questions, they won't really have the answers, so talk to your doctor in advance. The reception checks you in. A person calls you back and does your intake. Then another person comes back and preps you. Then, the anesthesiologist came and met me and double-checked what I needed to be safe and comfortable through the procedure. Then they took me to the procedure room and a whole new group of people and the doctor who greeted me. The anesthesiologist is who I talked with the most. He was great. But I was a little out of it, and I asked the nurse staff later what his name was, and they didn't know. Very siloed. (Note: I'd ask my doctor months before about who the anesthesiologist was going to be and he didn't even know, they contract that out and can't even verify that they will be covered by your insurance. And I called and talked to the clinic and tracked down the contractors and they STILL couldn't tell me. That's a bit ridiculous! That's why I gave this place 4 stars instead of 5. They really need to be able to reassure patients of this.) It took almost exactly two hours from the time I arrived until I left. Which is pretty amazing. Someone mentioned that the prep was worse than the procedure, and they were right. Hope this helps.
