The office of Dr. Barklow is very accommodating and runs on time. I was able to be a new patient and receive care, although a longer appointment, but within the same visit. Very grateful. I have been to lots of chiropractors in the past and this Doc is top notch!
For the sake of assessment accuracy, I am a life long, recreationally active 76 year old male, biking, hiking, gym rat.
I first started seeing Dr. Derek Barkalow after nine months into a long, slow, targeted focus recovery / reconditioning program to reclaim my strength and mobility from a herniated disc repair
at L5 / S1 ( laminectomoy ).
After nine months of physical therapy treatments, movement modules and two epidurals, I had plateaued at about 75% gain.
At this point, MRI findings marked small obstructions at L4, and the option to choose a“clean up” procedure to make space at he pinch point.

A bit of my journey... Mid 2023 I developed some fairly severe spinal issues. One of them was a compressed nerve in my back that would send horrible pain from my low back to the bottom of my foot. This limited me in so many ways. I went to the orthopedic surgeon and they wanted to do a spinal injection. I was not keen on that idea, I went to physical Therapy for months and while that helped I still was too limited and in a decent amount of pain. I decided to give chiropractic are a go to see if that might help.(this was at the end of 2023 and start of 2024)
