Although the wait times can be long..ER Staff have literally SAVED MY LIFE on 2 separate occasions!! Both times I went in for major abdominal pain and Both times I required Emergency Surgery (shout out to Patrick Coates central valley surgery) for herniated bowel and a similar emergency surgery 14 yrs later.
ER staff are thorough and Compassionate.

The quality of care I was given this evening is indescribable. The triage nurses, care nurses, ultrasound tech, MRI tech, and Dr. Sweeney were compassionate, empathetic, and demonstrated excellent bedside manner. Even staff who passed by and saw me struggling with a few minor adjustments came to my aid. I am so grateful for my experience, emergency rooms can be a nightmare. I hope I do not need to return, but if so I will gladly come to Memorial for emergency care. Please note that I was triaged VERY quickly for a few red flags. The care team tonight gave me faith for American healthcare, particularly after the difficulty I’ve experienced in the past year.

They were efficient, courteous, thorough, receptive and respectful. They took me seriously and addressed all my concerns. They did every test i needed and cared about my pain. I’m an ER veteran and pro and I don’t say this lightly. I’ve had a variety of terrible experiences in various hospitals.
The only problem was the incredibly long wait. However, they are currently overrun with covid and flu patients so i understand that it was a while. There was even a place to stretch out during the wait and nurses (or MAs) taking your vitals the whole time.
