I had good experience in this place, ob office is fantastic, and the pediatrician office is nice too the office could be more kid friendly while we wait to be seen. Sad that they removed the urgent care.

Went to this Mission Hills Optum Urgent Care last night 1-13-24 at 9pm as both Yelp and the Optum Call Center informed me that they were open until 10pm. Arrived to find a note on the door that they are PERMANENTLY CLOSED. Called the Optum phone number back as listed on the note and this location is closed as of 01-13-2024. The Optum call center supervisor had no further info and the call center attendant who I spoke with earlier apologized for missing the fact that this Urgent Care was closed as of today. What a shame as I really liked the staff here in the past. If they weren't permanently closes I would give them 5 stars.

My PCP recently joined with Optum, I've seen other doctors with Optum and some are better than others. On average, it's fine. I had a medical need that my doctor advised I go to urgent care for, so off I went. I have now been there 4 times over the past 3 weeks. My medical need aside, here is what my experience has been. Three of the visits, the check in staff have been kind and friendly. The one where they weren't kind, they weren't UN-kind, they just couldn't be bothered to do more than take my piece of paper and tell me to have a seat without looking at me once. Three of the visits I was seen within 30 mins of arrival, and out within 1-2 hrs max. These visits I arrived before they opened so I could be first on the list. The 4th visit I arrived at 6pm and was not seen by a PA for 90 minutes, then another 30 mins before I saw a physician. Three hours later I was leaving. The PA's have all been nice and friendly. I have seen the same faces there for the support staff each visit. The Doctors and NP's who've treated me, the first left me feeling fat shamed and not very empathetic to my pain and discomfort and clearly had not looked at my chart beyond my sugar and weight numbers. The second NP didn't really speak much, her bedside manner could be better. Both these physicians sent me off with little instructions beyond "Come back in 2-3 days." The third doctor took the time to speak to me, gave me more thorough care instructions and left me feeling like things were getting better. The fourth also provided excellent bedside manner and sympathy, while also giving me clear instructions. The downside now, as a patient, my medical issue has been seen by 4 different physicians who've all had 4 different opinions. As a patient, I feel like I'm not healing to any of their standards and that in fact they're making things last longer by prolonging treatment with each visit. I am tired of having to make weekly visits, pay a copay (which btw is not being sent to me, it's being sent to my husband for some reason) and spend hours waiting if I don't get there before the doors open. Edit to add this Urgent Care does NOT accept appointments, it is a first come, first served location.
