My partner and I came to Almonte Spa for our anniversary and overall had an amazing and memorable time. It was his first spa experience so I wanted something a little more accessible than the typical, glitzy, feminine energy / target audience...? that you might find at most spas. Almonte definitely offers a more natural, quiet and cozy feeling. Overall we loved our experience. There were tiny hiccups and tips for first timers but we would absolutely come back! The great - *Lovely environment - feels like you're entering a peaceful cabin. *The outdoor hotub was amazing, especially on a chilly post rain day. Totally private and romantic under a beautiful redwood. *Once we were situated, everything was very easy to get to - we ran around in towels most of the time but it didn't seem out of place - we saw at least one other couple doing the same. *Highly recommend a hot tub, massage, sauna package. It made for a totally relaxing experience. Room for improvement - *When we checked in initially they didn't mention our massage which gave me a mini heart attack as that was our main draw, but that was thankfully just a quick check in vs. booking error. *We weren't charged for the wrap offered to us, but when booking rental fees were mentioned so just to be safe, bring your own towels. Also bring flip flops! We didn't see it mentioned on the site but you'll definitely want them when you're coming in and out of hot tub / sauna / showers. Would be nice if this was offered complimentary. *The couples massage room is located across from a school field so we were a bit distracted by sports sounds for a portion of our massage. Closing the window helped but if you're sensitive to noise take note. *I've seen others mention it, but a 5 minute grace period between experiences would add a little more breathing space. I didn't feel super rushed but I always had a sense of time while moving from hot tub to massage to sauna. Almonte was a lovely couple's experience and I'm so glad my partner and I chose to celebrate our anniversary here. For a first time spa experience my partner had an amazing time and is now hooked on treating himself to the good life hehe - so just be warned, Almonte is a gateway to spas and pampering!

My sister and I both agree that Olga is the best massage therapist we've ever had, hands down! She is such an expert of her craft, and it feels like she is treating the whole person as opposed to just going and getting another massage. She knows the best techniques, and it truly feels like a holistic wellness appointment because every time we leave, we feel so refreshed, both mentally and physically. I could not recommend Olga more! And I really enjoy my visits to Almonte spa every time I go - the staff are wonderful!

!!!PROS: Almonte has a variety of highly skilled masseuses w their unique massage styles which keeps booking a new appointment interesting. All the masseuses are kind & attentive. May not be luxury but Almonte has a rustic/hippy style opposed to the spas that have your conventional bland luxury aesthetic. A package of 3 services at Almonte costs the same for one 60 minute service at another spa. This is the primary reason I go here. The entire spa is very clean & quiet! Their staff does an amazing job maintaining it! Finnish Sauna Here: many spas only carry only infrared but my favorite is the traditional Finnish Cedar wood dry sauna which is offered here. !!! CONS: 1. Time Crunch/Can't Fully Relax: When I book the soak/soothe/sweat or the sooth/sweat packages (Soak: private hot tub/Soothe:massage/Sweat: Sauna) I feel rushed and can't truly relax on a time crunch. There should be a 7-10 min grace period in between services giving the customer time to use the restroom, take a proper shower, or a quick rinse off. Sometimes all bathrooms and showers are occupied which ends up taking more time out of the next service. If there's no grace period, then the time it takes to shower/use restroom after the hot tub cuts into my 60 min massage will actually end up being 55 min or 50 min (and can't extend massage time to compensate for late start bc it can interfere with the next customer's appointment). My suggestion: 30 min hot tub then 10 min for bathroom/shower/dry off then Massage then 5 min for bathroom then 30 min sauna. 2. No Cold Plunge: California has warm weather (aside from the colder winter months) so it's easy to overheat in the outdoor jacuzzi especially if you book in the day time. Each private tub area needs its own cold plunge bath right next to the hot tub so customers can cool off & practice contrast therapy which brings a lot of health benefits/improves relaxation (cold plunges come in very small sized tubs so its possible to fit one inside each tub area). The indoor dry sauna does not have a cold plunge. Providing a cold plunge near the sauna will give customers the option to cool off + practice contrast therapy cycling during their 30 min sauna session. I use the showers to cool off after 15 min into my 30 min sauna session but usually I can't use them or if I do then i have to wait bc the shower/bathrooms are occupied which takes time out of my sauna session. This is what prevents me from coming more often. It's a perk to pay a relatively affordable price for a private tub and sauna session at Almonte but the big trade off is you're on a time crunch opposed to the Korean style spas or hotel spas where you book a service or pay a $30-40 general admission fee and you have 2-3 hours to enjoy their amenities. This offers more time to relax and you have the freedom to go back/forth between their tubs and saunas however many times as you please making it easy to truly relax. 3. Small Spa: It is easy to hear the voices of others (sometimes I hear others who are in massage rooms next door or those in the waiting room) and limited space to make additional improvements. 4. Important but not a deal breaker: -The lockers are inside of the changing rooms so if you need to access your belongings and someone is in the changing room then you have to wait. -The jacuzzi areas, outdoor shower, indoor showers, outdoor sitting/lounging areas are outdated and don't give the "curated spa type feel" but more like you're at a friend's house or at a nice frat house on the beach. The massage rooms near the saunas look less spa like in comparison to the massage rooms near the main entrance. The changing room areas are carpeted (carpet can trap unpleasant smells from customers and trap moisture from wet customers). Cute spa but needs improvement/needs to look more curated since most people go to the spa to escape reality. -A towel is a separate charge. I've never been to a spa that charges extra $ for a towel because it's usually included. -the fro
