MPE is horrible with traffic control and safety. I don't know how they continue to get jobs in the Monterey area. They did a job during quarantine near my son's school in Marina and never had the correct signage up, and their "spotters or flaggers" were barely ever paying attention. At one point they detoured the road into a DEAD END street!? How is that a detour? You should have properly closed the road before you have to detour into a dead end street. The only reason they probably didn't get more complaints about what they were doing is because it was quarantine and the local elementary school that they were working in front of was required to do online learning. However, the preschool down the street was still open.Now today, I almost hit one of their trucks dead on near Asilomar beach because they have a lane of traffic closed down with very little signage or even a flag person out there letting people know. How is this safe for our neighborhoods? How is it safe for our children? Shame on you MPE and shame on all of the cities continuing to use these people with unsafe standards.
