I've been a patient of Dr. Stybel's here and at his other location in west hollywood. Same great quality of care. My dry eye used to be so bad I couldn't work-- for months. I was told that symptoms could be "managed" but not reliably improved. Basically, it felt like my life was over at age 27-- nothing was enjoyable, because I was in constant pain. I still don't think my dry eye can ever be "cured", but after a lot of work and a lot of treatments, my symptoms are at a level where I'm grateful to be alive again. If anyone is looking for an eye doc or has a kid with myopia especially, do yourself a favor and go see local favorite Dr Stybel at Look! He is simply the best on so many levels. He provides a really clear education on eye anatomy and doesn’t dumb it down; he is still so excited about & interested in his field and is always up to date on new developments; he is so thoughtful and gentle with young patients; he gives you all the time you need to ask questions and you never feel like just a number being hustled through; and to top it off, he is an absolute ray of sunshine and just an incredibly warm, kind, caring human being. Dr. Ryan Stybel is essentially what I’d consider a functional and integrative eye doc - on top of having an absolutely amazing personality that exudes authenticity and positive energy. He also has a passion for his patients I’ve not experienced anywhere in decades for getting my glasses or contact lenses.
If you want more than just the run of the mill shuffle you in and out eye exam and live anywhere in Los Angeles - I’d strongly consider going to one of his offices.
Just came back for my annual exam. I actually moved and am not close (2 hours away!) but no way would I change docs as this office is so ridiculously AMAZING.... read full review
