About Coast Music
Coast Music is a highly regarded music school in the community, offering piano, drums, and guitar lessons. The school is known for its dedicated owner, Beth, who works tirelessly to provide opportunities for students to perform at local events and concerts. The teachers are described as "very nice and positive," creating a supportive and encouraging environment for both beginners and advanced students. The summer camp program is particularly popular, with campers enjoying the chance to try different instruments and work together on band performances. Reviewers consistently praise the confidence and talent of the students, crediting the school's positive and nurturing approach to music education.
My 8 year old daughter went to camp at Coast Music this summer and loved it! She wasn't very familiar with most instruments but the classes taught her and her band 3 of their favorite songs and they performed so beautifully! We brought friends and family to the show and everyone was blown away. We're starting keys next week! What a positive and warm experience!
Coast Music has been like our 2nd family for the past 5 years. My older daughter takes voice, piano, guitar and songwriting/composition at Coast, and is also in one of their singing groups. My younger daughter takes piano, clarinet, and is in a Jazz band. The teachers are incredible. The camps, band program and classes, in addition to the gigs they play at community events have been an incredible experience for them. The school is expertly run by people who know the music business and what it takes to succeed, but understanding the developmental journey.
My daughters have been taking piano and drums and I have been learning guitar at Coast Music for the last couple of years. We moved here from the Bay Area and I have to say, we are SO lucky to have a place like this serving our community. The owner, Beth, works seven days a week it seems. She is always looking for opportunities for the kids to perform--concerts at Coast, local community events like Hermosa Fest, sporting events, etc. I feel like our kids aren't just learning an instrument, they are learning to be confident when in front of a crowd. And she is super responsive and communicative when there is something that we need to adjust. The teachers are all very nice and positive. For beginners you can go with anyone, but obviously styles tend to get more specific once the kids advance so do your homework. Anyway, we always thank them when we see them, figured we should finally share!
