This dance studio is probably the best place to learn to dance in Los Angeles. The air conditioning works even when the place is crowded for social dancing. It’s only a matter of time before this place becomes thee place to party - without alcohol. I like how Blen Blen enlists a taco truck to be there at their dance events.

One instructor was one of the absolute highlights of a wedding preparation. A husband and wife took private salsa lessons to choreograph their first dance for their May wedding, and they truly could not have asked for a better instructor. They started as beginners, but the instructor immediately made them feel comfortable. He was incredibly encouraging, patient, positive, and genuinely invested in helping them. Rather than teaching a generic routine, he created a completely custom choreography for the song they chose and thoughtfully tailored every step to match their skill level. As they improved, he adapted the routine to challenge them while always making sure they felt confident and capable. He regularly recorded videos of their lessons so they could watch themselves improve. They also attended group classes, and he brought the same incredible energy to every lesson. He arranged for them to perform their routine during the Thursday night open dance. Thanks to him, their first dance became one of their favorite memories from their wedding day.
It is rare to find such a critical mass of talented advanced dancers, excited new and intermediate students, and committed teachers. The location is about as central in LA as you can get. If you get the chance to take a lesson, do it.
As a visitor from out of town, one is amazed by the warmth and welcome from the teachers and staff. A special shout out to one instructor who pours her heart, passion and professionalism for dance into her students, creating this wonderful family that support and learn from each other. The staff, other teachers and owner of the studio personally interact with the students constantly encouraging their progress. All different styles of dance come together to make each one greater.
A husband and wife came in with little to no dance experience, hoping to learn a choreographed routine for their first dance. From the very beginning, one instructor worked her magic. Her positive energy and warm, encouraging spirit made them feel confident. Over the course of 3 months, she transformed their dance skills. She showed up to every session with enthusiasm, patience, and genuine support. Their final routine was a mix of a traditional first dance and salsa, and it could not have turned out better. The studio itself was lovely, but the instructor is what truly made it special.
One of the best places in Los Angeles to come and take classes, all the instructors are very professional and once every month they have a social which they have salsa, Bachata and hustle. One of the best places to come and enjoy a good Saturday night.

David was one of the absolute highlights of our wedding preparation. My husband and I took private salsa lessons with him to choreograph our first dance for our May wedding at Rancho Las Lomas, and we truly could not have asked for a better instructor.

It’s rare to find such a critical mass of talented advanced dancers, excited new and intermediate students, and committed teachers, as what you can get at SoHo Dance (Westwood). It helps that the location is about as central in LA as you can get.
If you get the chance to take a lesson at SoHo (with any teacher) - do it! You’ll learn a lot and be glad you did.
