I had a very disappointing experience at Shia Nail. Despite booking an appointment in advance, I was kept waiting for nearly 30 minutes with no clear communication or apology. When I was finally seen, the service felt rushed and careless. The technician didn’t seem attentive to detail — my nails were uneven, and the polish started chipping within a couple of days. When I politely raised my concerns, I was met with defensiveness rather than any effort to make it right. For the price, I expected much better quality and professionalism. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.
I'm very particular of my nails (along with my hair and waxes) and I have been trying to find a nail person I want to go to on a regular basis since I've moved back to LA. All to say, I think I've found my person! Shy is a very detail-oriented individual which is important to me because I love getting designs on my nails. You all could probably tell from the pictures customers have uploaded how well he does his work. The design of my choice didn't take long either (2 hours:15 minutes for the whole service). In total I spent $130 ($30 deposit & $100 after the service was completed). He takes venmo and cashapp as payment. He was very accommodating and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. He offered water, made sure my skin wasn't nicked (asked on multiple occasions if anything he did was painful), and had a layout of candy. I can't comment too much on the ambiance since his business was in the process of moving so I'm looking forward to see his actual place next time I come in. He says his acrylic nails last for about 3 weeks and recommends booking an appointment after your service is done. FYI, he didn't ask for a deposit for the second booking. I'm looking forward to my next appointment!
