Dr. Roopenian fitted me for my first set of contact lenses in 1985 (not a typo) when I was 13. He was always so patient, answering all my questions throughout the years. I never went anywhere else for my eye exams and new prescriptions, until I got laser surgery to cure my horrible myopia in 2003. I went back once or twice for a checkup, to ensure my eyes healed well and confirm my 20/20 (or better) vision. Guess what? I can't read any more! It happens in your 40s. So I thought I'd look into getting contacts for near vision so I don't have to fiddle with reading glasses at my desk, in my pocket, and wherever. No thought of dialing any other number except Dr. Roopenian's. He answered promptly, remembered who I was (after all these years), and is ready to see me in a couple of weeks when he gets back from vacation. I'm looking forward to it, because I know I'll get my money's worth. He's a good guy and a valuable fixture in West L.A.

I was referred to Dr Roopenian by Hour Glass Optical and lucky me! I have a huge correction and have only had two perfect eye glass and contact prescriptions in my long life and this guy was one of them. He is a genius kind of doc and takes whatever time it takes to get it perfect, also a really nice guy that comfortably explains everything to you as you go along. I am picky because I work in visual arts so things have to be spot on for me and this is the guy. Fair prices also...oh did I also mention that I offered to buy my lens from this doctor at his shop but since I was referred by Hour Glass Optica, he would not burn them and told me if there was any problem to come back and he would look at the lens even though they weren't from his shop...doesn't get any better than that!!

Dr. Roopenian is the VERY best. I have been going there for years. Made the mistake a couple of times, for convenience's sake, of going to a different optometrist; both times they messed up my prescription. I work in audio/video & my vision has to be perfect; he takes a lot of time measuring your vision so that your glasses are perfect. Won't go to anyone else again.
