By definition, a neighborhood is a localized community within a larger city, and it is under that exact premise that owner and hairstylist, Ava Shire, created Neighborhood Salon. A third generation Echo Park resident, Ava strived to create a place that embodies the vibrance of the community she loves while allowing each individual stylist to shine in their own way and contribute their vibe and style. At Neighborhood, creativity and quality is never compromised for convenience, and you'll always feel right at home. Tyeler, one of the stylists, is praised for her exceptional understanding of wavy and curly hair, providing customers with fantastic haircuts that keep them coming back. The salon itself has a fun, uplifting vibe, decorated in funky, colorful art. Brenda, another stylist, is known for her kindness, patience, and sweet nature when working with teenage clients, even when they've had some mishaps with their own hair experiments. Tyeler is the best!! She understands wavy and curly hair so well-- I've never had such good haircuts and will keep coming back to her for years to come. My partner plans on coming here next because he's never found someone to cut his curly hair right. The salon itself is decorated in funky, colorful art and has a fun, uplifting vibe. Highly recommended getting your hair taken care of here.
This was one of the best salon experiences I've ever had. I got a curly cut with Tyeler, just to clean up the perimeter and back of my pixie cut -- and they did such a fantastic job. I appreciated talking out what I wanted done and how to best achieve that. Also, as someone with Long COVID and immunocompromised, the outdoor area and request for us to be masked with respirators meant to much to me. Definitely will be coming back in the future.
Brenda has been doing my teenager's hair for a couple of years now. My girl's hair always looks like a rockstar afterwards. I bring in my teen after she has cut n dyed her own hair and Brenda smiles and patiently works with my teen and ignores all the errors my teen has done and works around it and my girl comes out looking like a rockstar again. Of course until my girl finds the scissors and dye and does what teenage girls do and pretends she's a hairdresser too haha. I'm grateful for Brenda's kindness and sweet nature and fun personality. I'm glad we have my girl's hairdresser for life.
